The bio climate around the Canary islands and Africa showing the volcanic action, and the non active volcanos, and the under sea ridges, the red line at the top of the picture is the tectonic plate border and the blue peaks on the canarys are non active volacanos, the under water ridges are where the sea bed has raised due to volcanic action in the past there are no active volcanos in the area now although at the top of africa it is an earthquake zone with the last one I know of on oct 10th 1980.
