Morro Jable & Jandia

Morro Jable and the Peninsula de Jandia   are at the southern end of the island, were you have magnificent beaches of fine natural golden sand.

It is a paradise for the nudists that seem to flock here and is also a keen place for fishermen and divers, although many of the beaches seem to have a few nature lovers Jandia seems to be the place to be if that is your thing , but dont let it put you off seeing this beautiful place.

The views are great,  also you have  great shopping and plenty of eateries that cater for most tastes, the shops spread all down the promenade and are backed up by the hotels up the mountain side.

At the end  of Morro Jable is the harbour and boat trips to the other islands are possible.

If you take the route by the dirt tracks that are just before the harbour it is sign posted for Cofete on a wooden sign it is easy to miss it (we did several times before we found it) you can get to the light house at the very tip at Punta de Jandia it is about a 20km drive, the track is a bit scary if you are driving along it at dusk or in the dark as it is very close to the edge and there are no barriers, we did this route the first time at dusk but I recommend going in the day light and you will be rewaded by the magnificent views, there is no major road there yet  but it looks as if one is being built.

Also along the same dirt road you can take the right fork that leads you to Cofete up and over the mountain and some more wonderful views it's also  about a 20km drive from the harbour at Morro Jable.
