Ajuy
Ajuy also known as Puerto De La Pena is on the west coast between Betancuria and Pajara. It is a small fishing village and has some good restaurants that cook the local catch of the day. The local fisher men can be seen out in their row boats with their nets early in the day, or mending their nets on the beach by the cliffs.
It has a black sand beach and is surrounded by cliffs but is a very small cove but very delightful. There is a walk way up the side of the cliffs on the right that takes you to the top, There is a path that leads you to the caves of Ajuy, and the view from the cliffs is spectacular.

Not far from Ajuy is the wreck of the "SS American Star", although it is not really at Ajuy it is more south on the way to La Pared and you have to look out for the track off the main road which is on a bend and has a sign saying scuba prohibito
If you take one of the tracks to the right side of the village you can get to La Pena where you can see the Jureo Arch, you can drive down with care and there is a small beach at the bottom surrounded by rocks it is not safe to swim here as the waters are to rough but it is very pretty, campers seem to favor these coves as they are so quiet and tranquil, well worth seeing.
